What to Gift?

Here we are in prime shopping time. If you are a jewelry lover, you have probably been all over your favorite jeweler's websites, Vogue, W magazine, etc. to scout the new styles .

This season's looks include whimsy and nature with floral and star motifs trending.

The Rose pop rings from Christian Dior are an example of this trend. The generous sized, iconic Dior roses, are 18K and available in various shades. They also come with the generous price tag at $27,800.

Bulgari presents the Friorever collection featuring a four petaled flower. This 18K rose gold version in the photo on the left, is center set with a .10 ct round diamond and the price is an affordable $1800. It is also available in platinum and yellow gold. There are many matching bracelets, earrings and larger 'bouquets' of these little flowers in abundance in the collection. Bulgari also has one of my favorite pieces for the holidays, the Diva dreams pendant.

This pendant has fluid curves and flared feminine lines accented with .28 ct total weight, of white diamonds. The carnelian stone has a vivid color but a soft, almost velvety finish. This pendant is also available in malachite, both are priced under $5,000

If you are into adventure and excitement, consider a fine jewelry auction such as Heritage Auctions (HA.com) or any of the many fine auction houses near where you live. The yellow diamond ring above, is on offer at the upcoming NY holiday fine jewelry auction December 8th.

Fine engraving has embellished many beautiful pieces of jewelry, but it is found on other items of utility such as knives. The knives on the right from William Henry are truly works of fine art. Visit the William Henry website to see the broad choices priced from $350 to $75,000

If you have an obsessed James Bond fan on your gifting list, Omega has just the watch for you. The Limited Edition Seamaster 300M honors the 50th anniversary of the film "Her Majesty's Secret Service". They have limited the edition to 7007 watches and subtle references abound.

The center of the dial displays the trademark 007 swirl found at the beginning of each Bond movie with a 9 mm center circle. The Bond crest makes an appearance in the luminous 12 indicator, and 50 glows in the 10 indicator. There is a special limited edition,18K yellow gold plaque on the side of the case. You can match Daniel Craig in the up coming new Bond movie for $6500. Happy shopping!
